Lee Wyckoff had been the reigning MWA World Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Orville Brown in Kansas City, KS, on April 17, 1941. This version was the one recognized by the Midwest Wrestling Association. OCTOBER 22 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Bobby Roberts defeated Joe Estes > Dorv Roche defeated Bill Bartush > The French Angel defeated Rudy Strongberg / Notes: Joe Estes substituted for Strangler White in the match with Bobby Roberts. Strangler Lewis was the special referee for the match between Rudy Strongberg and the French Angel. OCTOBER 29 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Lou Thesz versus Rudy Strongberg / Notes: This card was cancelled on October 28, 1941, when it was learned that Lou Thesz had been injured in an automobile accident. NOVEMBER 12 (WEDNESDAY) Notes: In a press release, Abe Simon was quoted as stating that he would begin using more junior heavyweight style wrestlers and less of the heavyweights. NOVEMBER 19 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Steve Brody versus Soldier Thomas > Rudy Strongberg versus Strangler White > Tex Riley versus the Green Shadow / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. NOVEMBER 20 (TUESDAY) – AUGUSTA, GA – AUGUSTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Steve Brody versus Tex Riley > Soldier Thomas versus the Green Shadow > Rudy Strongberg versus Bobby Roberts / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. Abe Simon, who promoted wrestling in Atlanta, apparently began to include Augusta as an extension of the Atlanta office with this card. NOVEMBER 26 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Steve Brody versus Count Von Zuppi > Dan McGee versus Sailor Parker > Bobby Roberts defeated Strangler White by disqualification / Notes: Steve Brody and Count Von Zuppi were scheduled to wrestle each other, as were Dan McGee and Sailor Parker, but no results were reported after the card. NOVEMBER 28 (FRIDAY) – AUGUSTA, GA – AUGUSTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Dan McGee defeated Sailor Parker > Bobby Roberts defeated Strangler White by disqualification > Count Von Zuppi defeated Steve Brody (2-1) DECEMBER 3 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Dorv Roche defeated Ronnie Etchison > Bobby Roberts and Strangler White wrestled to a draw > Rudy Strongberg defeated Red Roberts / Notes: Dorv Roche was declared the winner of his match when Ronnie Etchison was deemed unable to continue, but Roche refused to accept the victory. DECEMBER 5 (FRIDAY) – AUGUSTA, GA – AUGUSTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Bobby Roberts versus Strangler White > Rudy Strongberg versus Dorv Roche > Ronnie Etchison versus Red Roberts / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. This appears to be the last card Abe Simon promoted in conjunction with his cards in Atlanta, as the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred two days later, ceasing both operations for some time. DECEMBER 10 (WEDNESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WARREN ARENA (Abe Simon – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Ronnie Etchison versus Bobby Roberts > Rudy Strongberg versus Dorv Roche / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. It is possible the card was cancelled, as the attack on Pearl Harbor had occurred just three days prior, and after the announcement of the scheduled event. |
