APRIL 3 (MONDAY) – AUGUSTA, GA – WILLIAM BELL AUDITORIUM (Robert McCoy – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Women’s Battle Royal featuring Judy Grable, Rita Cortez, Betty Evans, Maria Perez, and Fran Gravette > Tiny Evans versus El Lobo > International Tag Team Title Match: Gypsy Joe & Skull Murphy* versus Bill Dromo & Chief Little Eagle / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. It is unclear as to the reason for the battle royal. It is unclear as to how Gypsy Joe & Skull Murphy came to be recognized as International Tag Team Champions. The last reference we have shows the Corsicans defending the title against Doug Gilbert & Lou Whitson on June 10, 1960, in Atlanta.

APRIL 4 (TUESDAY) – MACON, GA – MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Jim Burke, Gypsy Joe & Killer Campbell defeated Bill Dromo, Guy Mitchell & Tiny Evans > Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Chief Little Eagle defeated Skull Murphy* to win title / Notes: It is unclear as to how Skull Murphy came to be recognized as Southern Heavyweight Champion. The last reference we have shows Guy Mitchell defeating Murphy to win the title on March 29, 1961, in Columbus. It is believed that Chief Little Eagle’s claim after defeating Skull Murphy on this date was only recognized in Macon.

APRIL 5 (WEDNESDAY) – COLUMBUS, GA – COLUMBUS SPORTS ARENA (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Chief Little Eagle defeated Jim Burke > Bill Dromo defeated Killer Campbell > Jim Burke, Gypsy Joe & Killer Campbell defeated Bill Dromo, Tiny Evans & Chief Little Eagle > Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Skull Murphy defeated Guy Mitchell* to win title / Notes: Guy Mitchell had been the reigning Southern Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Skull Murphy on March 29, 1961, in Columbus. It is believed Mitchell’s claim was only recognized in Columbus.

APRIL 10 (MONDAY) – AUGUSTA, GA – WILLIAM BELL AUDITORIUM (Robert McCoy – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Jim Burke versus Jolly Charlie > Guy Mitchell & Chief Little Eagle versus Tiny Evans & Gypsy Joe > Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Skull Murphy* versus Bill Dromo / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. Skull Murphy had been billed as Southern Heavyweight Champion since March 10, 1961, although Macon was recognizing Chief Little Eagle at the time.

APRIL 11 (TUESDAY) – MACON, GA – MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Bob Rasmussen defeated Jim Burke > Guy Mitchell & Jolly Charlie defeated Tiny Evans & Gypsy Joe > Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Skull Murphy defeated Chief Little Eagle* by disqualification / Notes: Chief Little Eagle had been the reigning Southern Heavyweight Champion since he defeated Skull Murphy on April 4, 1961, in Macon, although it appears his claim was only recognized in Macon. With Skull Murphy defeating him on this date, it appears as though Murphy’s recognition was now statewide.

APRIL 12 (WEDNESDAY) – COLUMBUS, GA – COLUMBUS SPORTS ARENA (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > One-Night Tournament: Chief Little Eagle defeated Guy Mitchell; Bob Rasmussen defeated Gypsy Joe; Little Eagle defeated Skull Murphy; Rasmussen defeated Tiny Evans; Little Eagle and Rasmussen wrestled to a draw – Little Eagle won a coin flip to determine the winner / Notes: The winner of the tournament was to earn a match with the Eastern Heavyweight Champion on April 19, 1961.

There was no referee for the match between Bob Ellis and Dick the Bruiser. The Bruiser had been the reigning US Heavyweight Champion as recognized by the Detroit, MI, office, since he defeated Bobo Brazil on February 28, 1961, in Detroit. For some reason it was being called the AWA World Heavyweight Title here, and the Bruiser was being billed as such. As a result of the stipulation in the match between Ray Gunkel and Gypsy Joe, the latter had to ride a donkey around the auditorium and out into the streets following the match.
