The program for this card mentions the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” program for October 4, 1969, will air from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, but will return to its normal 10:30 to 11:30 PM slot the following week. Charlie Harben was credited as being a referee on this card. It was announced that Dory Funk, Jr., would be wrestling on the card on October 10, 1969, and that Nick Bockwinkel would be wrestling in Atlanta soon. It is unclear as to why the switch was made, and whether Myers or Hill were even at the venue. The stipulation for the match between the Professional and the Assassins was that the former had to defeat both for the latter to unmask. However, if he failed to defeat both Assassins, the Pro would have to unmask. Per the stipulation, the Pro removed his mask following the match to reveal his identity as Doug Gilbert. Gilbert continued to wrestle without the mask after this, but was typically called the Professional as a nickname. The Assassins had also been ordered to wear different colors for the match. There was an article in the program for this card from Los Angeles Times writer John Hall about Sam Sheppard. It was announced that Sheppard and George Strickland would be wrestling on the card on November 28, 1969. Garibaldi submitted to a Colt hammerlock, but when O’Dell attacked the referee following the match, Colt was disqualified and Paul Jones made the match between O’Dell and Garibaldi as a punishment. |
