| At the height of his popularity via the new medium known as television, Argentina Rocca was first advertised to wrestle in Atlanta during July 1948, but he failed to appear. It would be three years later before he finally made an appearance around the loop in Georgia. He made many trips to Georgia between 1951 and 1957, and although he was simply considered an attraction star who traveled, thus never staying for any real length of time, he was extremely popular with the Georgia fans. He would also appear in the state again in 1961 and 1964. It has been said that whenever crowds in Georgia were becoming sparse, they could always count on someone like Rocca to bring them back in droves, which would create an opportunity to excite the fans once again with the other wrestlers in the territory. |
