GATE TO GATE
Release Date: March 2010 / Author: PL Myers / Publisher: Creative Chica
--- Many people may not be familiar with Myers, but he is more than just a guy who has worked the independent
scene and wrote a book. He is a lifelong wrestling fan who got into the business after years of hard work doing
local television in the Chicago area, where he interviewed celebrities and characters of interest in many levels.
Using his TV show as a way to begin featuring top wrestling stars, and in the process forming long relationships
with many, he got into the business as a manager, and is considered good enough by many to perhaps appear
on your televisions somewhere down the road. Oh, and did I mention proceeds from the book are going to
charities, including the Special Olympics? His story is an interesting one, and often quite entertaining. This is a
must-read. Highest recommendation. (Rich Tate)

THE GODFATHER OF GRAPPLING
Release Date: January 2005 / Authors: Gene LeBell, Bob Calhoun, George Foon, and Noelle Kim / Publisher:
Self-Published
Note: This is the same exact book as "the Toughest Man Alive", which was apparently a bad publishing deal of
sorts for LeBell.  He re-released it under the title of Godfather of Grappling, and prefers that you consider buying
Godfather rather than Toughest Man.

GORDON SOLIE: Something Left Behind
Release Date: March 2005 / Authors: Gordon Solie, Robert and Pamela Allyn / Publisher: Florida Media
--- This book is an insightful look into the person rather than the wrestling announcer.  A lot of his inner thoughts
are told through poems and short stories that he scribbled throughout his life, and the accompanying photos
were perfectly placed, making this a great read.  If you are looking for wrestling material, there's some, but don't
go into this one expecting to come away with an education on the business.  Nope, you'll come away with a
better understanding of who Solie was.  Highly recommended. (Rich Tate)

GOTCH: An American Hero
Release Date: November 1999 / Author: Mike Chapman / Publisher: Culture House Books
--- By all means check this out because it has some fascinating accounts of many of Gotch's matches. Has to be
taken from an all Gotch stance though, doesn't give a straight story on things. I highly recommend this book for
those interested in pro wrestling history, but take much of it with a giant grain of salt. (Trent Van Drisse)
