HARDCORE HISTORY: the Extremely Unauthorized Story of ECW
Release Date: March 2006 / Author: Scott E. Williams / Publisher: Sports Publishing
--- Excellent book. Scott has approached the topic like the legitimate journalist he is and presents a balanced
view. Focuses on the backstage and business side of what went down, which if I wanted to quibble I would say
was at the slight expense of the presentation---at times I would have liked to see more on certain angles and
matches I remember---but you finish the book with a far greater understanding than you started it with. You just
wish he could have gotten to everybody. Unreservedly recommended. (Crimson Mask)

HEARTBREAK & TRIUMPH: the Shawn Michaels Story
Release Date: November 2005 / Authors: Shawn Michaels and Aaron Feigenbaum / Publisher: World Wrestling
Entertainment
--- I started reading this book, but found Michaels to be so superficial and phony I lost interest in it and still
haven't finished reading it. HBK is an all time great talent for sure. Don't believe that? Just ask him!  Not
recommended unless you're an HBK mark. (Trent Van Drisse)

HITMAN: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling
Release Date: October 2007 / Author: Bret Hart / Publisher: Random House

HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN
Release Date: November 2002 / Authors: Hulk Hogan and Michael Jan Friedman / Publisher: World Wrestling
Entertainment
--- Total garbage.  Recommend you blow your nose with dynamite instead, because that would be less painful to
endure. (Mick N. Brawler)
--- I heard part of this book as an audio book read by Hogan, complete with phony crowd noise in the
background. Hogan is cheesy as they come, and has no problem lying through his teeth as he puts himself over
constantly. He's a shameless shill. I recommend you find a different book, unless you find Hogan re-inventing
history and putting himself over to be perversely entertaining. (Trent Van Drisse)

HOOKER: An Authentic Wrestler's Adventures Inside the Bizarre World of Professional Wrestling
Release Date: 1996 / Authors: Lou Thesz and Kit Bauman / Publisher: Wrestling Channel
--- This is still the benchmark IMO. Yes, Lou didn't get everything right, but when this came out it was THE
definitive text on the history of the business, and researching what WASN'T right IMO has led to more insight than
any other single thing. There wasn't anything like it before and it set the standard and opened the door, and it
remains the most compelling read in the genre. Nobody has done as good a job as coauthor as Kit Bauman to
this day. Absolutely recommended. (Crimson Mask)
--- I loved this book, even if it left me looking for more on the latter days of his career and life.  It seemed to peak
during his early and prime years, then quickly sped through the rest.  Still, when he talks about the events going
on in his life during his reigns as the top, you can't put it down.  I only wish there had been a sequel to cover
other periods.  Not only recommended, but mandatory reading here. (Rich Tate)
--- Believe the hype.  Definitely a great story from a great wrestler.  Recommended you add this to the collection,
especially if you are currently in the business. (Mick N. Brawler)
--- Some of the stuff Thesz says does not stand up as historically accurate, but this is simply a great read from
one of the all time greats. Engrossing read. I highly recommend this book. (Trent Van Drisse)
