SEX, LIES, AND HEADLOCKS: the Real Story of Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation
Release Date: July 2002 / Authors: Shaun Assael and Mike Mooneyham / Publisher: Crown
--- There is a thing about this book---the original hardcover edition was apparently riddled with factual errors
most of which were corrected for the paperback edition, which is the one I read. I found it well-researched,
well-written, and informative. Recommended. (Crimson Mask)
--- I read the hardback, and was extremely disappointed at the factual errors that plagued it. Apparently, the
paperback that followed was edited to correct many of the predecessors flaws, but I haven't found that version at
a price I would pay to risk coming across the mishaps again. Recommend you stay away from the hardback, but
if you find the paperback for cheap, give it a try. (Rich Tate)
--- This book isn't bad, but the title is misleading. It's not really about McMahon. I slightly recommend this book,
but don't expect an expose' on McMahon here, it's not really about that. (Trent Van Drisse)

THE SHEIK OF BAGHDAD: Tales of Celebrity and Terror from Pro Wrestling's General Adnan
Release Date: June 2005 / Authors: Adnan Al-Kaissy and Ross Bernstein / Publisher: Triumph Books
--- I bought this book to read what Al-Kaissy had to say about the AWA. He's a big fat liar, and the details are so
sorely lacking here this book really annoyed me. I do not buy that Adnan was Saddam Hussein's "right hand
man" of sorts, but without that yarn he would have never found a publisher I know. I recommend you find another
book unless you get off on reading a self serving pack of lies. (Trent Van Drisse)

SHOOT FIRST, ASK QUESTIONS LATER
Release Date: December 2008 / Author: James Guttman / Publisher: ECW Press
--- Fantastic read! Rather than rehash the interviews he has done with pro wrestling figures, the author shares
the behind-the-scenes events that took place before, during, and after them. As a guy who seeks out interviews
with various figures myself, I can relate to the mishaps and hilarity that ensues. His story of an exchange with
Ole Anderson not only reminded me of every conversation I have ever had with him, but is perhaps worth the cost
alone. Highly recommended. (Rich Tate)

THE SOLIE CHRONICLES: the Life and Times of Gordon Solie
Release Date: August 2009 / Authors: Robert Allyn, Pamela S. Allyn, and Scott Teal / Publisher: Crowbar Press
--- For those who didn't acquire Gordon Solie: Something Left Behind (and why haven't you?), this is what you
were most likely hoping for, and now you can have it. While Something Left Behind was only a compilation of
various writings from Solie, put together by Bob and Pam Allyn, the Allyns have now managed to piece together a
biographical look at Solie's life, both on and off camera, in a way no one else could. This is an excellent
accounting of his broadcasting career, as well as other professional ventures and his personal relationships. If
you admired Solie and want to know more of what made him tick, this book is must-read material. Extremely
recommended. (Rich Tate)
