| February 4, 2007 Back in December 2006, Wayne Harrell (son of Jim Nelson – a/k/a Boris Zhukov) was involved in an automobile accident that left him with severe injuries, including head trauma, third degree burns, and many broken bones. Although he is recovering, he has a long road of rehabilitation ahead, and his family is putting together a fundraising event to help cover the medical costs, which have been estimated to be around $800,000.00. A ‘Fun Run’ has been set up, at $10.00 per entry, with all proceeds going to the Harrell family’s bills. The event is scheduled for February 25. If you cannot attend the event, but would like to make a donation to assist, you can send them to the William Harrell Benefit Account, PenAir Federal Credit Union, 1495 East Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, Florida 32514. For more information to pursue helping the Harrell family in this time of need, you can contact Tracy Davis (251-294-0739), Charlotte Salzer (850-327-6458), or Dan Colasono (334-559-4580 or dcolasono@ namcoarcade.com). More info can be found by clicking here. Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts is in the news again. At a show in Melbourne, Florida, Friday night for Full Impact Pro Wrestling, promoter Sal Hamouni had him escorted from the building by local police, claiming he was impaired. Reports from prior to the event state that during an autograph session for fans, Roberts was cordial and seemed to be acting perfectly fine. More from Trish Stratus regarding the cancellation of the CBS series Armed and Famous. She has stated in a recent interview that her reasoning for the show’s aborted run was that it was competing directly with American Idol, seen on the Fox Network. Added to the card for next month’s UWF show in Gainesville are Maven, Elix Skipper, and David Young. Already announced were Scott Steiner, Amy Dumas (a/k/a Lita), Eric Young, James Storm, the Naturals, Petey Williams, and the “retiring” Steve Corino. Tickets have been on sale since January 27. The card takes place March 2 at the Georgia Mountains Center, with a follow up show on March 3 at Chattanooga’s Convention and Trade Center for you folks on that end of the state. |
