It’s good to be digging out from under the mass of real work at my day job to catch up with the latest happenings in the wrestling word.  In case anyone missed it, my Tribute to James C. Melby was posted this past week.

You WCW fans out there should check out Derek Bush’s self-published book,
the History of World Championship Wrestling, released earlier this month.  I posted my review earlier today.  This is a must have in regard to referencing WCW from November 1988 through the demise in 2001.

The card has been completed for Sunday night’s
WWE pay per view broadcast of No Way Out.  Batista and the Undertaker will meet John Cena and Shawn Michaels in the main event, with ECW Champion Bobby Lashley defending his title against Mr. Kennedy, and the team of Deuce & Domino challenging Paul London & Brian Kendrick for the WWE Tag Team Title in the set-ups.  Also appearing on the card are Gregory Helms, Kane, Chavo Guerrero, King Booker,  Shannon Moore, the Boogeyman, Funaki, Finlay, Jimmy Yang, Chris Benoit, Daivari, the Hardys, Jamie Noble, MNM, and Scotty 2 Hotty.

This past week’s broadcast of
TNA’s This is TNA, aired in direct competition with RAW, drew a dismal rating, and then on Thursday night, the special RAW telecast killed TNA again.  Further proof that TNA, which does decently in the ratings when not competing directly with WWE shows, is still far below where it should be in order to be considered a true rival.  After all, it’s not a rivalry if the same team wins all the time.

Speaking of ratings, it was originally reported that
MTV was removing WSX from it’s programming schedule, as the first few episodes fared poorly.  However, it appears rumors of it’s death were premature, as network executives will be meeting next week to determine the future of the “promotion”.

Dusty Rhodes was recently confirmed as a 2007 inductee into the
WWE Hall of Fame, along with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.  It is also believed that the Wild Samoans – Afa & Sika – will be part of this year’s group.

As a reminder, be sure to help the Wayne Harrell (a/k/a Jim Nelson / Boris Zhukov) family in any way you can.  Click
here for info on how you can assist.

I tried to contact Sean Evans a couple weeks back, but haven’t heard back.  If anyone can pass along the info to him, or can let us know how his health is doing, please help.  We are looking to update everyone on the status of his cancer, as many requests have come in since we posted several months back about the benefit that was being held to help raise money for him to cover the medical costs.
