As Atlanta is bogged down in massive traffic jams this weekend with the Braves returning to town to begin their season, as well as the fact we are hosting the Final Four, thus welcoming those poor tourists trying to navigate our miserable highway system, Detroit, Michigan, is just as busy this weekend hosting World Wrestling Entertainment, for the three-day WrestleMania XXIII festivities.
Last night at the Fox Theatre in the Motor City, many of the WWE employees – current and past – attended the premiere of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s new film, “the Condemned�. Reported to have made a grand entrance: Ric Flair, Randy Orton, John Cena, Batista, Finlay, King Booker, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, CM Punk, Carlito, Rob Van Dam, Jimmy Hart, Sgt. Slaughter, Jim Duggan, Johnny Nitro, Sabu, Umaga, Matt Hardy, Jim Ross, Mark Henry, Edge, Melina, and Ashley. Of course, Triple H was there with wife Stephanie McMahon, as well as Shane and Linda McMahon. The film is set for national release on April 27.
Tonight, the venue is the setting for the annual WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies, which can be followed as they happen beginning at 7:00 PM ET on the WWE website. Later tonight at midnight ET, or tomorrow morning at 10:00 ET, the USA Network will be airing the inductions for Dusty Rhodes, Jerry Lawler, Curt Hennig, and Jim Ross. The remaining honorees – Nick Bockwinkel, the Wild Samoans, Mr. Fuji, and the Sheik – will apparently only be inducted off the televised portion of the broadcast. Then, of course, tomorrow night at 7:00 PM ET, the matches begin on Pay Per View.
We have been reporting that Backlash will be at Philips Arena in Atlanta on April 29, and that a combined ECW / Smackdown event will be coming to the Savannah Civic Center on June 18. It has also now been announced that the ECW / Smackdown crew will be in Columbus on June 17 at the Civic Center. Tickets for the Atlanta show are already on sale and some are still available. Tickets go on sale on April 28 for Savannah and April 14 for Columbus.

NWA Anarchy presents the 11th Annual “Hardcore Hell� show tonight in Cornelia. The NWA Elite (Kory Chavis, David Young, Onyx, Jeff Lewis, & Abomination), with attorney / agent Jeff G. Bailey in their corner, will meet the Devil’s Rejects (Tank, Iceberg, Azrael, Dominous, & Shawn Tempers), with Dan Wilson in their corner, in one match of the billed double main event. The other main will be a Douple Jeopardy Match involving Chad Parham, Ace Rockwell, Jeremy Vain, and Slim J.
