Back after a much needed vacation.  Let’s catch up on the news.

Sad news was reported over the weekend, as legendary Pacific Northwest promoter and former wrestler Sandy Barr died from a heart attack at the age of 69.  Click
here for a nice piece from Slam! Wrestling.

We reported a couple of weeks ago that Ivan Koloff and his wife Renae had been injured in an automobile accident.  A benefit show has been scheduled at the National Guard Armory in Mooresville, NC, on June 18, with all proceeds going to the Koloffs to aid in covering their medical costs.  Already announced as part of the show are Bobby Eaton, Jimmy Valiant, Ricky Morton, Bobby Fulton, the Barbarian, Frank Dusek, Mr. Florida, Thunderfoot #2, Tommy Young, and Jackie Crockett.  For further info, please call George South at (704) 577-5503.

Scott Steiner was injured in a match during a
TNA event in San Juan, PR, Sunday night.  It was reported that he took a kick to the throat, and seemed fine immediately following the bout, but he was rushed to the hospital early Monday morning as he was struggling to breathe.  He was scheduled to undergo trachea surgery Monday, but there have been no reports since.

As expected, Bobby Lashley regained the ECW Heavyweight Title at
WWE’s One Night Stand PPV on Sunday in Jacksonville, FL.  Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch also became the new WWE World Tag Team Champions when they defeated Matt & Jeff Hardy Monday night on RAW in Tampa, FL.

No official word yet, but there is speculation that
Deep South Wrestling is only a couple of weeks away from making confirmed announcements regarding its re-launch.

Results from the
NWA Anarchy show in Cornelia on Saturday: Jeremy Vain over Truitt Fields; Derrick Driver & Steven Walters over Andrew Pendleton III & Caleb Konley; Slim J over Patrick Bentley; Luke Hawx over Steve Anthony; Austin Creed over Kyle Matthews; Shadow Jackson over J.T. Tallent; and Chad Parham over Damien Wayne to advance in the tournament to determine a new World Champion.  Estimated attendance was reported as 200.

According to our records, the following will be celebrating birthdays in coming days: Ahmed Johnson and Rip Hawk (Wednesday); Mick Foley (Thursday); Tatanka (Friday); Dan Severn (Saturday); and Mike Enos and Magnum T.A. (Monday).  We are looking to list these each week, so if you know of any not listed, please let us know.  Also, if you see any listed inaccurately, let us know about those, also.
