Sherri Martel died Friday morning at her home in Birmingham, AL, at 49.  No cause of death has been made public, and no funeral arrangements have been disclosed.  Click
here for a nice tribute at Slam! Wrestling.

There is quite a funny piece on the “death” of Mr. McMahon at
Kentucky Fried Rasslin’.

As could be expected, the
Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE is reconsidering the angle because of Martel’s passing.   It may also have something to do with the fact that the most recent TV ratings are down.

The WWE completed the supplemental draft yesterday, resulting in the following roster moves: Paul London, Brian Kendrick, the Sandman, Daivari, William Regal, and Jillian Hall to
RAW; Kenny Dykstra, Hardcore Holly, Victoria, and the Major Brothers to SmackDown; and Viscera, Johnny Nitro, and the Miz to ECW.

It is being advertised that Roddy Piper will be appearing in Atlanta at the
G.I. Joe Convention at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in September.

Attention Leon Ogle: If you are reading this, please email
Michael Edwards or Rich Tate.

We reported last week that Mike Mooneyham had started a multiple part series of pieces on Ivan Koloff.  In case you missed it, click
here for the first part, and here for this week’s portion.

AWA World-1 South results from Savannah on June 15: T.J. Mack & Krazy K over the Christopher Street Connection; Chasyn Rance over Jack Manley; Tommy Marr over Sean Hill; Mister Saint Laurent over Daron Smythe; Jake Roberts over Jake Slater; Francisco Ciatso over Bill DeMott; and Vordell Walker & Dagon Briggs over the Heartbreak Express to win the ??? Tag Team Title.  Fans who came out to see the no-showing Honky Tonk Man were probably happy to see the unadvertised Roberts and DeMott.

NWA Anarchy results from Cornelia on June 16: Truitt Fields over Jake Manning; Don Matthews over Todd Sexton; Patrick Bentley over Slim J; Ace Rockwell over Adam Roberts; Sex & Money (Caleb Konley & Andrew Pendleton) over Brodie Chase & Brandon Phoenix by DQ; Mikki Free over Billy Buck in a squash; and Azrael over Kory Chavis.  Ring announcer Eddie Rich opened the show with a ten-bell salute honoring Sherri Martel.  The estimated attendance was 135, quite short of a sellout, and about 2,065 shy of the capacity of the Georgia Mountain Center in Gainesville, where Anarchy presents their big quarterly show on June 23.

WWE results from Columbus on June 17: Chris Benoit over Kevin Thorn; Chavo Guererro over Jimmy Wang Yang to retain the Cruiserweight Title; Tommy Dreamer & Stevie Richards over Sonny Siaki & ? (Siaki's opponent not specified in the report); CM Punk over Elijah Burke; MVP over Finlay to retain the US Heavyweight Title; Chris Masters over Funaki; and Batista over Edge to retain the World Heavyweight Title.
