| June 27, 2007 More on Benoit: Possible Health Concerns and Past Marital Problems Pam Winthrope has gone public with information that claims her husband and Chris Benoit had spoken briefly a few years ago because both family’s sons suffered from a genetic condition known as Fragile X Syndrome. This condition is said to be an inherited mental impairment, and the Winthrope’s twelve-year old son has been diagnosed with FXS. She claims they reached out to the Benoit family to help them understand the condition. However, she says that Chris was having issues dealing with the condition. She apparently was looking for Chris to become more involved in helping spread awareness to the condition, but he was reluctant to become a “face for Fragile X”. Winthrope added that she can understand through her own family’s experience that the emotional stress can tear away at a family, as it is difficult to find help and support for those who have been diagnosed. It was also learned today that in 2003, Nancy filed for custody of Daniel and a restraining order against Chris. |
