More on Battle Between GCW and SECW

From
Larry Goodman:

In regard to the recent events between
Great Championship Wrestling and Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling, Cru Jones sent the following message:

I have gotten some emails and calls about the SECW/GCW drama; plus I have heard some straight up lies going on.  You pretty much know the basic deal: GCW wanted their guys just for them, and not working for Ted and SECW.  I told them in the past if they did not have a show booked for me that I was still going to work SECW.

Well, months after that some feathers were ruffled and I got a call saying that I would be booked the same time as SECW; in others words, compensated to not work SECW.  GCW is my main promotion.  I work more for them each month and make a lot more money with them each month, so it was a no win.  I agreed, but only if I ended things with SECW my way, which I did.

I called Ted Allen right after I hung up with GCW, and shot the situation to him straight about all that was going down.  Ted was cool and polite with me on the phone, and we both agreed that we wish it was not happening.  Ted even got the GCW booker’s phone number from me to try and work it out, which obviously it did not.

I have no problem with SECW, it was one of the most fun places to wrestle, and I enjoyed the fans and atmosphere there.

Now for the lies I have heard.  Here is a quote from someone: “It is a shame that a man can tell another man what to do.”  That is a shame, but in my case and the others like me, “It takes a man to pay me, to tell me what to do.”  Just like every working person on this planet, you get paid and told what to do.

As for me “No-Showing”, that is a total line of h*rs*sh*t!  I called Ted six days before his show.  The powers that be knew I would not be at that show.  Them not informing their fans that I would not be there is on them, not me.  A “No-show” is some one that does not call, send an email, text message, telegram, message on a pigeon’s foot; you see what I am getting at.  I have never “No-Showed” a show in my entire career.  I wanted to squash the crap before it started flowing down hill.

I wish nothing but the best to Scott [East], Ted, and the rest of the SECW, by far some of the best fans to perform in front of.
