There were no new episodes of Deep South Wrestling television for the last two weeks. The 11/26 show was a rerun of the previous week. There was no show on 12/3 due to college football. DSW television returns to a full hour on CSS starting 12/10 at 11pm. For those in need of their weekly DSW fix, below is a previously unposted recap of the October 22 episode featuring Untouchables vs. Majors Brothers for the DSW tag titles and the debut of Krissy Vaine as the new GM. CSS episode 26 opened with the chicanery from last week’s Divas match between Angel Williams and Tracy Taylor. Scrappy McGowan caught Williams with a handful of Tracy’s shorts and refused to count three. Williams griped. Tracy rolled Williams up for the clean pinfall. Matt Striker came playing like Superman, with a ref shirt underneath his school teacher garb. Striker DQed Tracy for an illegal pin. Mike Taylor hit the ring. Striker reacted by suspending Tracy and banishing her from the building. Cut to Nigel Sherrod and Bill DeMott. Sherrod said Striker had stuck his nose in where it didn’t belong and helped the Untouchable steal the tag titles. DeMott said that Striker was in the middle of the biggest controversy in DSW history, one that saw the Untouchable in possession of both the OVW and the DSW tag titles. Cut to footage of a called meeting after last week’s show chaired by the Assassin. Present were Untouchables, High Impact, Matt Striker and Nick Patrick. Assassin said he was very unhappy about the tag title match, not so much about what happened, but about the way it happened. Assassin demanded that Striker explain his actions as referee. Striker maintained that merely removed Patrick from an injury prone situation and rendered a fair decision in favor of the Untouchables. Assassin said Striker was a smart fellow, but he was no dummy himself. Assassin said he smelled the stench of collusion and in order to have sufficient time to investigate, he was making changes. Assassin introduced Krissy Vaine as the new general manager and Ryan O’Reilly as her executive troubleshooter. Assassin said they would handle the day-to-day affairs of DSW. Vaine ordered Untouchables to defend the tag titles. Domino said there was no automatic return clause, so no match for High Impact. Vaine ran down the list of tag team contenders minus Impact. Impact started bitching. O’Reilly excused them from the meeting. Domino convinced Deuce that they should rumble with Majors Brothers because they were nothing. Vaine said they needed a ref. Striker volunteered. Untouchables liked that idea. Patrick disputed Striker’s qualifications. He said he reffed his first match when Striker was still in diapers and crapping yellow. Patrick said Striker needed to choose between being a ref or a wrestler, because at this point, he stunk at both of them. Vaine decided there would be two referees for the match. Domino reassured Deuce that two refs wouldn’t matter. “We’ll crack ‘em.” The DSW Heavyweight Champion Bradley Jay ran into Derrick Neikirk backstage. Neikirk told Jay the title was his for seven months and he was coming back for it. “When you come for this, you better bring everything you got,” said Jay. O’Reilly and Vaine were in the office. Vaine was seated at the desk formerly occupied by Palmer Canon. O’Reilly said he was back to regain the Deep South heavyweight gold. Vaine said OK, just so long as it didn’t interfere with his office duties. Neikirk showed up. He told O’Reilly to step aside because he was taking his title shot. “Well, it looks like I’ve got some important decisions to make,” said Vaine. Sherrod and DeMott recapped the developments on tonight’s episode and hyped the title match between Untouchables and Majors Brothers. Angel Williams was backstage with an infuriated Urban Assault. Eric Perez grabbed the mic out of Angel’s hands and went off in Spanish. Cocky Siaki said UA had already proven they were the baddest team in pro wrestling and the Untouchables had come into their house and taken their tag titles. Siaki said they UA were coming for titles and once they got them, they were staying for a long time. (1) Majors Brothers (Brian & Brett) beat Untouchables (Deuce & Domino with Cherry) to win the DSW tag titles in 11:44 The girls were screaming as Majors entered the ring. Untouchables tried to trap Brian in their corner but he was wise to their tactics. DeMott said Untouchables were taking the 21-year-old Majors too lightly. Brian tossed Deuce over the top. Deuce landed on his feet and started prancing around ringside, so Brian slidekicked him into Domino. Back inside the ring, Majors gave Domino a double hiptoss and Brett covered a an early near fall. The momentum shifter was a crash-and-burn springboard twisting high crossbody by Brian. Untouchables worked on Brian’s midsection. Domino came off the top with a stomp to Brian’s midsection. Domino dropped an elbow to the gut and paused to run a comb through his ducktail. Deuce drove Brian’s face into the mat and took a TO for a kiss from Cherry. Brian rolled out from under the Summer Lover (flying fist drop) by Deuce. HOT TAG. Brett ran wild. Brett hit a bulldog on Deuce and a flapjack on Domino. Cherry grabbed Brett’s leg and Deuce rolled him up for two. Brett came back with a reverse DDT and both refs counted the near fall. It broke down to four-way action with all four perched on the top rope pounding away. They did a quadruple noggin knocker with Deuce and Brett ending up flat on their backs in the ring. Striker counted Brett’s shoulders down for the three count, while Patrick counted Deuce. Confusion reigned. The match was restarted. Majors hit stereo dropkicks on the Untouchables. They slammed into Striker, knocking him out of the ring. Majors hit the Long Island Express on Deuce and Patrick counted the 1-2-3. The building exploded as Majors were announced as the new champions. They did a lengthy postmatch celebration with the babyface side of the dressing room out to congratulate Majors. Cut to the ring where Striker and Patrick were in a heated argument. Patrick turned his back. Striker kicked Patrick in the gut and planted him with a tombstone piledriver. Patrick was motionless. Striker raised the Untouchables’ hands over Patrick’s spread-eagled body. The ref crew rushed out to tend to Patrick, who appeared to be unconscious. DeMott said Striker had put a damper on the Majors’ title win. NOTES: Anytime the stellar voice of the Jody Hamilton can be heard on a wrestling television show, that’s a good thing. Assassin’s announcement of Vaine as the new GM came from nowhere. When last seen, Vaine was Angel Williams inring partner in crime. It will be interesting to see how this develops…This was O’Reilly’s first television appearance since his 30 day suspension…Domino is just plain hilarious…There was a tinge of heelish crybaby in Impact’s response to not getting their rematch…Crowd was hot for Majors/Untouchables. Nothing fancy about the ringwork but they got the story across. The match was one fine piece of booking capped off by a roller coaster ride of a finish….The postmatch celebration went a long way towards making the titles seem important…Coming out of this show, Striker had more heat as referee than any wrestler in Deep South…Patrick sold the piledriver like they were in McDonough, Mexico. |
