Before the matches, Quentin Michaels came out and led the crowd in a moment of silence for the Benoit tragedy. At least that is what I'm thinking he was talking about as he never said Benoit by name, but said it was a tragedy in the wrestling world. Billy Roper kicks the show off, telling about the two title matches and also was telling about the new action figures that came in. John Bogie defeats Randall Johnson via pinfall after hitting a lionsault. The Beach, Swinger and Buchanan promos that are on You Tube were shown on the big screen talking about the upcoming GCW title match. Frankie Valentine and AJ Steele defeats Amien Rios and Death Row after Steele hits the Slam of Steele on Rios. After the match, Death Row attacks Rios and Steele comes in for the save. Death Row and Steele brawl and Death Row eventually choke slams AJ onto the interview stage. Billy Roper announced that next week, the GCW tag team champions, Chris Stevens and David Young will be defending the belts against The Naturals. Then the crowd saw a video promo for Reuben James who claimed that he is going to dominate the cruiserweight division. Maybe it was me, but I didn't know folks from England had southern accents. Jonathan Davis defeats Reuben James after hitting a 619 followed by a catapult elbow drop. After the match, Davis offered to shake James' hand, but James nailed him with a Gordy Bomb. The You Tube promos of Chris Stevens and Quentin Michaels were shown. Columbus Heavyweight Title Match Shaun Banks w/Quentin Michaels defeats Chris Stevens to become the new Columbus champion after he knocked Stevens out with the title belt. GCW Heavyweight Title Match Scotty Beach retains the title after defeating Bull Buchanan and Johnny Swinger. This match actually turned into an elimination match. Swinger hits Beach with a chair and referee Jeff McGowan DQed him. Referee Randy Ray came down and both of them decided that Swinger was out of the match, and Beach and Buchanan would continue. Swinger came down and distracted Buchanan who was then rolled up for the 3 count. After the match, Bull gets the mic and said that he had enough. He then challenged Swinger to a match and told Michaels that if he doesn't make it, then he'll go to Diane Hewes to make the match. He then told Michaels that he had a decision to make on who he'll come out with next week. As far as the special guest, I don't know who it was. I didn't see Jerry Oates. |
