The event began with a big bang, as Michael Black and Ace Voleur battled it out in the rubber match of their passionate 3 event series. With one win a piece, both men were looking to finally finish the feud once and for all, proving dominance in the sport of kings, in a wild and strong attempt to climb the ladder of success. While Ace used his quickness and enthusiastic offense to throw off the game plan of Michael Black momentarily, eventually it was the experience and smart ring savvy of Michael Black that proved apparent, as Black scored the victory with a vicious facebuster which landed Ace's eye directly on the knee of Michael Black. After that, the pinfall was academic, and Michael Black celebrated once again by proclaiming "another great moment, in Black history". The second match of the night featured The Hooligans, Mason and Devin Cutter, defending the WWA4 Tag Team Championships against the tandem of Tex Monroe, and the returning Weezy Woo. Weezy looked awesome, bringing his unique style of fast paced action to the squared circle and running loops around the Hooligans, allowing for both himself and partner Tex to score with a series of near falls. However in the end, The Hooligans, perhaps capitalizing on the ring rust Weezy accumulated with the one month absence he’d acquired, nailed Devin's dastardly lariat, and scored the pin to retain the championships. After the match, The Hooligans once again called out announcer Taylor McKnight, and said they'd face any tag team he could bring to the asylum. McKnight promised that he'd have someone next week for them to face, and that the beating they'd take would allow them to shift focus from their wrestling careers, to acting and starring in the sequel to "Broke Back Mountain." The final match of the evening was for the WWA4 Heavyweight Championship, as newly crowned Champion and everyone’s least favorite Brit, Reece Royale, defended the belt against former champion one week removed from his reign, Cameron Valentine. Cameron, more focused and ready then ever before, dominated this match with submission style wrestling, working mainly on the legs and lower region of the body, softening up Reece for the figure four leg lock. While most championship matches often go back and forth in an impressive display of competition, Valentine’s aggression seemed to completely out match Reece Royale, as soon after Valentine secured the figure four leg lock, Reece tapped out before being able to really mount an offence against his challenger. Valentine was declared the new WWA4 Champion, and Reece Royale, while impressive in his tenure, left the WWA4 embarrassed, promising never to return again to a country that promotes so much injustice. Valentine celebrated with the fans, as Royale left to a chorus of boo's and laughter, no doubt securing his decision to finally go home. Only time will tell if Royale will return, and if so, what sort of vengeance he will bring upon Valentine, or whomever else is holding the belt he so wrongfully feels was stolen from him. |
