Frankie Valentine and Tex Monroe defeated the Hooligans when Valentine reversed Devon Cutter's suplex into a small package. This match was a great way to kick the event off as both of these young teams have nowhere but up to go in the tag team ranks. The Hooligans are probably one of the most intense teams that I have ever seen. Bull Buchanan made his return tonight. He said that it is great to be back in GCW with the belt. He talks about his NOAH tour and mentions how he will defend the GCW title every Saturday night. This brought out Johnny Swinger. Swinger called Buchanan a liar and a thief. He said Buchanan wasn't in Japan, but was in Hawaii. Swinger said that he is the best and that the he wants his title back. Out comes Scotty Beach who reminds Swinger that he made him tap out the last time the two met and that he deserves the title match. Bull said that he owes Beach for costing Beach the title anyway, he suggested a 3 way. So it was set up. Bull Buchanan will defend the title against both Beach and Swinger. David Young defeats Deathrow after hitting D-Row with a huge spinebuster. After the match, Deathrow shocked Young by getting right up. This match was a preview of sorts for next week, because David Young and Chris Stevens faces Deathrow and Thug Rowe to decide who goes into the tag tournament finals. Young probably has one of the best spinebusters in the business. GCW Interstate Title Match: A.J. Steele defeats Orion Bishop by DQ after Bishop's manager Wicked Nemesis entered the ring. The Intern came out to help A.J. Steele and Bishop fought with each other until referees and wrestler Skinny Jimmy came out to restore order. Orion is one strong SOB and can easily be a top contender for both the GCW heavyweight and interstate titles. Sonny Siaki makes very short work of Michael Cook with an inverted swinging neckbreaker. I think next time, Cook should just finally admit that he is carrot top and go back to prop comedy. GCW Tag Team Tournament Semi-Finals: Hot Like Lava w/Quentin Michaels defeats the RJ Connection after Hot Like Lava hits Randall Johnson with a double arm trap shoulder neckbreaker. This was a highly entertaining match, with both teams pulling out the comedy. Near the end of the match, Tex Monroe and Frankie Valentine came down to watch the end of the match, causing the RJ Connection to be slightly distracted. GCW Heavyweight Title Match: Bull Buchanan defeated Scotty Beach and Johnny Swinger w/Quentin Michaels when Buchanan pinned Beach. Bull retains the title. Near the end of the match, Sonny Siaki came down and attacked Swinger. |
