GCW continues to build up to their huge War Games event in front of another crowd of around 300 people. Three of the five matches tonight pitted the War Games team members in competition against each other. Match #1 Referee Scrappy McGowan "The Wrestling Hybrid" Orion Bishop w/Wicked Nemesis defeats "The 80's Guy" John Bogie after hitting Bogie with a spear thanks to a distraction from Wicked. After the match, Bishop attacked Bogie but before any major damage could be done, "The Beach Boy" Scotty Beach ran down with a chair for the save. Match #2 Referee Scrappy McGowan GCW Interstate Championship Match Cru Jones w/Quentin Michaels and Zero Tolerance defeats GCW tag team champion Tex Monroe to retain after Cru hits Tex with a modified swinging neckbreaker. Match #3 Referee Randy Ray AJ Steele and "The Beach Boy" Scotty Beach w/Princeton Gainy defeats "The Wrestling Marvel" Michael Cook and Jonathan Davis after Steele reversed Cook's roll up. Before the match began, John Bogie came out and thanked Beach for helping him earlier. He said to show his thanks he got the greatest band of the 80's to play Beach's theme song. That band was the muppet band fronted by Kermit the Frog. After the match, Bishop came down and started to brawl with Beach while The Bruiser and a masked man came in and attacked Steele. Interestingly enough, the masked man was dressed the way Princeton aka the Intern use to dress before he got rich. Match #5 Zero Tolerance w/Quentin Michaels defeats David Young after bringing Young into the ring from the apron with a chokeslam. Match #6 GCW tag team champion J-Rod and Sonny Siaki defeats GCW heavyweight champion Johnny Swinger and Shaun Banks w/Quentin Michaels after Swinger accidentally threw baby powder in Banks' eyes and J-Rod made the cover. After the match, Zero Tolerance and Cru Jones ran down and attacked J-Rod and Siaki. Then David Young and Tex Monroe ran down and made the save. GCW owner Diane Hewes came down. As team GCW was celebrating, Michaels, Inc came back in and attacked. After knocking out Team GCW, Swinger grabbed a Hewes as Michaels got out of wheelchair and punched Hewes as Swinger held her. Michaels then goes over and gets the War Games trophy and Michaels Inc leaves with it. Last week I made mention of GCW's TV special, Friday Night Fights. That show is set to air on April 11th from 8pm to 10pm on Cable TV of East Alabama channel 7. Going to be shown on that event will be the huge 22 man #1 contenders battle royal and a tag title rematch between Hot Like Lava and J-Rod and Tex Monroe. |
