Notes: It is unclear as to how the Southern Tag Team Title became vacant to make the tournament necessary.  The last reference we have shows the Infernos defending the title against Bobby Shane & Mario Galento on April 15, 1966, in Atlanta.  It was reported that the winners of the tournament would also receive $5,000.  During the tournament, Enrique & Alberto Torres were declared winners of their match with the Infernos when time ran out and judges gave the match to them.  The final match of the tournament saw the Torres brothers defeat the Mysterious Medics after the Infernos interfered, throwing a fireball at Medic #2 when the referee was distracted.  J.C. Dykes managed the Infernos.

Notes: Gentleman X (1) managed Tarzan Tyler & El Mongol.  The program for this card mentioned that Paul Jones believed that Gentleman X was Jack Crawford in a mask, although he walked with a limp and seemed to be a bit smaller in stature than Crawford.  Jones noted that he had agreed to allow Crawford to appear for a match on March 29, 1968, so that both he and Gentleman X could be seen at the same place at the same time, giving him the opportunity to confirm or deny the allegations.  Crawford was quoted in the program that he had only pulled the stunt with El Mongol appearing as Dr. M to avenge the fact that Mr. Wrestling and the Torres brothers had started “all of this mask business” many months prior, once again claiming Mr. Wrestling was Tim Woods in a mask.

Notes: Gentleman X (1) managed Hans Schmidt & El Mongol.  Following the match between Hans Schmidt & El Mongol and Enrique & Alberto Torres, the Torres brothers attacked Gentleman X.  The Torres’ had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated Stan & Butcher Vachon on January 5, 1968, in Atlanta.

Notes: This was for the “Live Atlanta Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral.  Paul Jones announced that Jack Crawford had visited him during the week, and was on crutches, claiming he had been in an automobile accident, which seemed ironic since Gentleman X walked with a limp.
