In the match between Oki Yama & El Mongol and Bob Armstrong & Enrique Torres, Yama used a swinging Hangman hold to finish off Torres, and it was instantly noted by Capral that the hold was the one used by Butcher Vachon to subdue his opponents. This began speculation that Vachon was perhaps the man under the mask. The mask the man wore in the photo was different than the one fans were accustomed to seeing on Yama. During the match between Avenger #2, Enrique & Alberto Torres and Oki Yama, El Mongol & El Lobo, Avenger #2 removed Lobos mask, but his face was covered before he could be identified. The program for this card questioned whether Lobo was Stan Vachon. Crawford, meanwhile, was accusing Ramon Torres of being the real identity of Avenger #2. DECEMBER 1, 1967 (FRIDAY) ATLANTA, GA ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > World Tag Team Title Match: Enrique & Ramon Torres* defeated El Lobo & Oki Yama Notes: Jack Crawford managed El Lobo & Oki Yama. Enrique & Ramon Torres had been the reigning World Tag Team Champions since they defeated Lars & Gene Anderson on May 12, 1967, in Atlanta. There was an interesting item in the program for this card where Crawford made allegations that Mr. Wrestling was Tim Woods. He said he had narrowed it to Woods after considering it was not Ray Gunkel, Verne Gagne, or Dale Lewis. He also claimed he was being a good sport when he announced that El Lobo was Jose Gonzalez from Barcelona, Spain. However, during the match between Enrique & Ramon Torres and El Lobo & Oki Yama, Lobo was unmasked and identified as Stan Vachon. DECEMBER 8, 1967 (FRIDAY) ATLANTA, GA ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Loser Unmasks Match: Oki Yama defeated Avenger #2 Notes: As part of the stipulation, Avenger #2 was forced to unmask following the match with Oki Yama, and was identified as Ramon Torres. When the tournament came down to a final round, Ramon Torres & Mr. Wrestling did not want to wrestle against Enrique & Alberto Torres, so they pulled straws to determine which team would wrestle the Vachons, as chosen by Paul Jones, despite their loss in the first round.
