Notes: This was Paul Jones’ first card in about two years, since he had retired and sold his interest in the office to Don McIntyre.  It is said that Jones was simply brought back for public relations purposes, as his share of stock in the office was much smaller than before he sold to McIntyre in 1962.  His role as promoter simply meant that he was the figurehead and presented as the man in charge to the fans.  However, Ray Gunkel and Buddy Fuller were the top men at the helm by this time.

Notes: The Red Raiders were initially declared the winners in their match with Enrique & Ramon Torres, but the decision was nixed when it was discovered the Raiders had used a cloth with a substance in an attempt to subdue Enrique.  It was later reported to have been chloroform, after an empty bottle of carbon tetrachloride was found in the dressing room.  The Raiders were reportedly fined $100 each for their actions.  The Torres’ had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated Louie Tillet & Butcher Vachon on October 21, 1966, in Atlanta.

Notes: The Red Raiders were disqualified in their match with Enrique & Ramon Torres when Chico Cortez interfered.  The Raiders were caught trying to use chloroform to subdue one of the Torres brothers.  The Torres’ had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated Louie Tillet & Butcher Vachon on October 21, 1966, in Atlanta.

Notes: There were two referees for the match between Enrique & Ramon Torres and the Red Raiders.  Charlie Harben and Leo Garibaldi were credited as being referees on this card.  The Torres brothers had vowed to leave if they lost the match, and the Raiders had vowed to unmask if they lost.  The Torres’ had been the reigning Southern Tag Team Champions since they defeated Louie Tillet & Butcher Vachon on November 16, 1966, in Columbus.
