JULY 7, 1950 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM
(Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling)
> Jim Coffield and Buddy Knox wrestled to a draw
> Nick Carter defeated Red Roberts
> Tex Riley and Tarzan White wrestled to a draw
> Southern Heavyweight Title Match: Art Nelson defeated Don McIntyre* to win title
> NWA World Heavyweight Title Match: Lou Thesz* defeated Bibber McCoy
Notes: Don McIntyre had been the reigning Southern Heavyweight Champion since he defeated the Red Terror on May 19, 1950, in Atlanta.  Howard Brown was credited as being a referee on this card.  Although the National Wrestling Alliance was formed in 1948, and Paul Jones was reportedly at the first member meeting, Atlanta had continued to recognize the NWA World Heavyweight Title as observed by the National Wrestling Association, as it had been doing since 1930. Alliance champion Orville Brown never made an appearance in the area during his reign, and this was the first by Lou Thesz since he was awarded the Alliance version on November 27, 1949, after Brown was forced to vacate the title due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident on November 1, 1949.
