> Southern Tag Team Title One-Night Tournament: the Infernos defeated the Scufflin’ Hillbillies; Enrique & Alberto Torres defeated Jack Vansky & Swede Karlson; Bobby Shane & Chief Crazy Horse defeated Billy & Bad Boy Hines; the Mysterious Medics defeated Derrell Cochran & Jack Pesek; Torres Brothers defeated Infernos; Medics defeated Shane & Crazy Horse; Torres Brothers defeated Medics to win title
Notes: It is unclear as to how the Southern Tag Team Title became vacant to make the tournament necessary.  The last reference we have shows the Infernos defending the title against Bobby Shane & Mario Galento on April 15, 1966, in Atlanta.  It was reported that the winners of the tournament would also receive $5,000.  During the tournament, Enrique & Alberto Torres were declared winners of their match with the Infernos when time ran out and judges gave the match to them.  The final match of the tournament saw the Torres brothers defeat the Mysterious Medics after the Infernos interfered, throwing a fireball at Medic #2 when the referee was distracted.  J.C. Dykes managed the Infernos.

> World Tag Team Title Match: the Mysterious Medics* versus the Infernos ruled a no contest
Notes: There were two referees for the match between the Mysterious Medics and the Infernos.  Charlie Harben and Leo Garibaldi were credited as being referees on this card.  The Medics had been the reigning World Tag Team Champions since they defeated Eric & Karl Von Brauner on March 25, 1966, in Atlanta.  J.C. Dykes managed the Infernos.  During the match, both teams were in the ring at the same time, and one of the Medics pinned one of the Infernos, while the other Inferno pinned the other Medic.  Garibaldi counted the latter, whereas Harben counted the other.  Amid the confusion, Garibaldi ruled the Inferno who had pinned the Medic but Harben convinced him otherwise.  Dykes reportedly filed a protest with the NWA, and the title was held up pending a review.  The rematch ended up being held on June 10, 1966.
