Paul Jones reported in the program that he had grown tired of El Mongol getting himself disqualified to keep the Georgia Heavyweight Title, and that he was considering suspending Mongol from all future bookings if he did not sign for a match with Mr. Wrestling waiving the disqualification rule. Crawford responded in the program to that threat that the match on this card would not be for the title, and that he would be calling Jones’ bluff. DECEMBER 9, 1967 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WAII STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) Notes: This was for the “Live Atlanta Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. Jack Crawford and Paul Jones joined Capral to discuss the pending suspension of El Mongol, and Crawford remained adamant that Mongol did not have to sign for a match waiving the disqualification rule. By the end of the discussion, Jones had made the suspension effective immediately, much to the dismay of Crawford and Mongol. DECEMBER 12, 1967 (TUESDAY) – MACON, GA – MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Bill Dromo & Mr. Wrestling defeated the Gauchos DECEMBER 15, 1967 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Loser Unmasks Match: Mr. Wrestling defeated Oki Yama Notes: As part of the stipulation, Oki Yama was forced to unmask following the match with Mr. Wrestling, and was identified as Butcher Vachon. Jack Crawford managed Oki Yama. DECEMBER 16, 1967 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WAII STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Karl Von Stroheim versus Mr. Wrestling Notes: This was for the “Live Atlanta Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. No documented results for this match have been found. DECEMBER 22, 1967 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > One-Night Tag Team Tournament: the Gauchos defeated Bob Armstrong & Bobby Shane; Ramon Torres & Mr. Wrestling defeated Stan & Butcher Vachon; Lars & Gene Anderson defeated Ray Gunkel & Chief Little Eagle; Enrique & Alberto Torres defeated Kenny Mack & Oki Shikina; Torres & Mr. Wrestling defeated the Gauchos by disqualification; Torres Brothers defeated the Anderson Brothers; Torres Brothers defeated the Vachon Brothers to win tournament Notes: It was reported that the purse for the tournament was $4,000.
