A letter reprinted in the program, allegedly sent from Muchnick to Jones, addressed as the Vice President of the NWA, stated that the Assassins had an attorney contact him regarding the use of the name, and that Muchnick had been advised by NWA attorneys to take the action to avoid legal issues threatened by the Assassins. In a response to the ultimatum handed down by NWA President Sam Muchnick, stating that Paul Jones resign or force the Super Assassins to leave, the Super Manager issued a counter to the lawsuit pending by the Assassins. He challenged the Assassins to wrestle his Super Assassins for the right to use the name, and even vowed to unmask if his team failed to win the match. The Assassins shot back that it didn’t matter if the Super Manager unmasked, because they already knew he was Mario Galento under a mask. They added that there was no reason to wrestle for the name, when they earned the name many years ago, finishing by telling him they would let it play out in court. OCTOBER 16, 1969 (THURSDAY) – AMERICUS, GA – SUMTER COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Tex McKenzie & the Professional defeated the Assassins by disqualification OCTOBER 17, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Louie Tillet, Tex McKenzie & the Professional defeated the Super Pro & the Assassins Notes: Following the match between Louie Tillet, Tex McKenzie & the Professional and the Super Pro & the Assassins, per the stipulation, the Super Pro removed his own mask, revealing himself as Aldo Bogni. OCTOBER 18, 1969 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. Aldo Bogni joined Capral and announced that the only reason he had come to Atlanta and worn the mask as the Super Pro was because the Assassins had paid him to do so, in an effort to have him risk the mask against the mask of the Professional, rather than risk their own. OCTOBER 21, 1969 (TUESDAY) – MACON, GA – MACON CITY AUDITORIUM (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Macon Tag Team Title versus Mask Match (DQ Rule Waived): Roberto & Cyclone Soto* and the Assassins wrestled to a draw Notes: There were two referees for the match between Roberto & Cyclone Soto and the Assassins. The Sotos had been the reigning Macon Tag Team Champions since they defeated the Super Assailants and the Assassins September 16, 1969, in Macon. OCTOBER 24, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Tex McKenzie defeated Aldo Bogni at 5:00 > Paul DeMarco & El Diablo versus the Assassins ruled a no contest Notes: Homer O’Dell managed Paul DeMarco & El Diablo. The winners of the match between Paul DeMarco & El Diablo and the Assassins were to earn a shot at the Georgia Tag Team Title on a future date. Following the match between Tex McKenzie and Aldo Bogni, Bogni was attacked by the Assassins and left bloody and motionless in the ring. OCTOBER 25, 1969 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. The Assassins joined Capral to announce that they attacked Aldo Bogni on the October 24, 1969, card because they felt he had double-crossed them the previous week on television. OCTOBER 31, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Aldo Bogni & the Professional defeated the Assassins NOVEMBER 7, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Round Robin Tag Team Tournament: Paul DeMarco & El Diablo defeated the Assassins; Joe Scarpa & Alberto Torres defeated DeMarco & Diablo; Assassins defeated Scarpa & Torres; Assassins defeated DeMarco & Diablo to win tournament Notes: It is unclear as to the reason for the tournament. Homer O’Dell managed Paul DeMarco & El Diablo. NOVEMBER 8, 1969 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Georgia Television Title Tournament Match: Joe Scarpa defeated Assassin #1 to advance Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. NOVEMBER 14, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Joe Scarpa, Alberto Torres & the Professional defeated El Diablo & the Assassins Notes: Following the match between Joe Scarpa, Alberto Torres & the Professional and El Diablo & the Assassins, the Assassins turned on Diablo and unmasked him in the ring to reveal his identity as Frankie Cain. Cain continued to wrestle with the mask. NOVEMBER 15, 1969 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Assassin #1 defeated Ronnie Hill Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. NOVEMBER 21, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Handicap Match (No TL): the Professional defeated Assassin #2; the Professional versus Assassin #1 ruled a no contest at 20:00 Notes: The stipulation for the match between the Professional and the Assassins was that the former had to defeat both for the latter to unmask. However, if he failed to defeat both Assassins, the Pro would have to unmask. Per the stipulation, the Pro removed his mask following the match to reveal his identity as Doug Gilbert. Gilbert continued to wrestle without the mask after this, but was typically called the Professional as a nickname. The Assassins had also been ordered to wear different colors for the match. NOVEMBER 28, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > The Assassins defeated Sam Sheppard & George Strickland NOVEMBER 29, 1969 (SATURDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – WQXI STUDIOS (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Doug Gilbert defeated Assassin #1 Notes: This was taped for the “Atlanta TV Wrestling” television program hosted by Ed Capral. DECEMBER 19, 1969 (FRIDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Paul Jones – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Georgia Tag Team Title Match: Nick Bockwinkel & the Assassins defeated Doug Gilbert, Ray Gunkel & Buddy Fuller at 15:00 for Assassins to win title Notes: For the match between Nick Bockwinkel & the Assassins and Doug Gilbert, Ray Gunkel & Buddy Fuller, the title was on the line in a special six-man tag team rules match. During the match, Gilbert unmasked Assassin #1, only to reveal a mummified face, wrapped in bandages. Ray Gunkel & Buddy Fuller had been the reigning Georgia Tag Team Champions since they defeated the Assassins on October 10, 1969, in Atlanta. Leo Garibaldi was credited as being a referee for this card.
